Emergency Maintenance on UK Servers Ganymede & Io
Posted on 20 August 2014 01:32 PM

To fix some problems located on these servers, we will be performing emergency maintenance on them this afternoon which will require some downtime. We expect this to be less than 20 minutes per server.

Ganymede hosts Helm and SmarterStats in the UK, so these services will be affected whilst it is unavailable.

Io is a Windows 2012 web server, and the downtime will only affect websites that are hosted on that particular server.

Problem on UK Web Server "Metis"
Posted on 01 January 2014 01:30 PM

We are dealing with a hard drive issue on one of the UK Web Servers, Metis. The drive is currently being replaced and we are in the process of transmitting last nights backup back from the off-site backup location.

As soon as more updates are available, we will post them here.

UPDATE: The backup has been restored. As the backup was taken from just before 1am today, only a few hours of changes have been lost as a result of the hard drive failure. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this.

UPDATE: Most websites are now back online, we are continuing to work on the server to ensure that it is completely back to normal. If you are seeing any issues with sites on Metis, please open a ticket immediately so that we can investigate.

UK Mail Server Maintainance (UPDATED)
Posted on 23 December 2013 10:19 AM

As previously announced, as part of our improvement to services we will be moving the UK mail server onto new upgraded hardware in a few days time. This new hardware will increase the performance of the mail server and give us the capacity needed to deliver our new hosting plans in the new year.

The migration has been scheduled for between midnight and 6am on Tuesday 31st December 2013. It is being done overnight to minimise disruption to customers. We expect the downtime for all mail services during this window to be no more than 2 hours long, likely much less. There will be no changes to any IP addresses or services.
As always, should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us via the support helpdesk at https://support.liquidsix.com.

We would like to wish all of our customers who celebrate it a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

UPDATE: Due to an issue, the migration has been delayed by 24 hours and will now take place between midnight and 6am on Tuesday 31st December, instead of the originally planned Monday 30th December.

UK Web Servers "Metis" & "Europa"
Posted on 11 October 2012 05:23 AM

The Windows Updates installed overnight have caused an issue with two of the UK Web Servers, "Metis" and "Europa". We are working on the problem currently and will post an update as soon as possible.

UPDATE: Europa is now back online. We are still working on Metis.

UPDATE on Metis: Windows is having to be reinstalled to fix the problem. This is in progress now and we hope to have sites coming back online by around 1-2pm. No data will be lost, as all the data is still on the hard drive, only Windows is being reinstalled. Please accept our apologies for this issue.

UPDATE on Metis: The web service has now been put online, and many sites will be working. However, if your site is ASP.Net powered, you may see a server error currently as the last of the permissions (the ones that control ASP.net) are still being set by the automated script. As the script reaches each site in turn, that site will start to work correctly. If you have a site powered by something other than ASP.Net and are seeing an issue, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can look into it for you.
