How do I change my file permissions via FTP? (CHMOD)
Posted by Paul Woodland (Import) on 02 December 2006 04:35 AM
The process of changing file permissions via FTP is known as CHMOD and is supported only by Linux/Unix servers. The windows servers that we provide use a different permissions system which is incompatiable with this. If installation instructions for a script indicate that you should change permissions using CHMOD (such as changing to "777" or "755") you can simply ignore this step as it is unessecary on our servers. The script should still work fine.
